Gaby's Outfit For Winter Formal

Hey everyone!

So I had a lot of fun at my school's winter formal. I didn't ask anyone, it's a girls ask guys dance, because my friends and I decided to go as a group. I built my outfit out of things I already had in my closet, because I think it's a waste of money to buy a dress that you only wear once and "can never wear again because I wore it to a different dance" not that I am going to wear this outfit to another dance soon, but Ill pair everything with different outfits so that I still wear all the parts, just separately. Anyway, I thought it would be fun to show you guys my outfit because I had decided that morning what I was going to wear, but i'm pretty proud of how it turned out!

My dress is from Urban Outfitters, It's 70$ and it's still on the website if you guys wanna check it out. It's called "Oh my love lace dress" and I'm in love with it. It's loose fitting, but doesn't swallow you up, and goes to the perfect length. It has lace detailing all around the top and to the back, and down in a v shape on both of the sides. I'm so happy with it because you can wear it more fancy like I did, or more laid back like how the model is in this picture. I'm definitely gonna copy her outfit sometime.

The shoes i'm wearing are these platform/wedge white sandals. They are surprisingly super comfy and they were super cheap! I got them @ H&M for only $10! They were on sale and they were the last ones. I had no idea how I was going to wear them but I couldn't leave them. They're really comfy and cute, and I know that they will be summer shoes.
I have a cardigan/kimono type of thing on. It's from a local boutique but they sell them pretty much everywhere, forever21, Urban Outfitters. It kept me a little bit warmer than I would have been and it added a really pretty drapey look to my whole outfit, also it had white flowers on it that matched with my shoes! I thought that it tied it all together well. Here are some that look a little bit like mine.

Winter Shoe Staples

Hi everyone! This is my first post so I hope ya like it (◕‿◕✿) So anyways I just thought I'd tell you guys about my favorite shoes for winter. Okay so can we just talk about how fabulous Dr. Martens are? They are the loves of my life and I got them for Christmas! They are so beauteous and in the light they are magical and I'm crying. I love how they're kind of ombre and at first I was going to get the black matte ones but these were just too cute. Also, they are soso comfy! At first I was like its gonna suck to have to break into them but they are incredibly comfortable which is rad. I usually wear them with leggings and an oversized flannel or with tights and a skirt and a cardigan. I'm so happy I got them and I definitely recommend them!

The model name is 8-eye vegan boot in red in case you were wondering! And the style number is 569399.

Okay so my next favorite shoes for winter would have to be my all black high top converse. The main reason why I didn't get black Dr.Martens is because my converse already kinda look like them ya feel. I have the normal black high tops with white laces too but these add more of a wintery and edgy feel. I usually wear them with cuffed jeans and a random tshirt. I really recommend all converse though because they fit my feet perfectly because I have super narrow feet. The only downside to them is that they make my feet look super floppy and extra long so that kinda sucks but they only look like that on my feet so I think you're good if you want a pair haha

And lastly, combat boots. I think I'm one of the last people to get them haha but I'm very happy I did and I love them lots. The ones I have are so comfy and they make me very happy. I love wearing them with thigh high socks and mid calf socks. I also like how mine lace up at the top. I couldn't find a picture of the exact ones I have but these come pretty close. Mine are a lighter brown and they aren't that shiny and glossy. But I love them and I definitely think that everyone should have a pair in their closet. Okay so thanks for reading and I hope you guys enjoyed my first post!

Oil Slick Nails

Hey Everybody!
Today I'm going to do a post about a certain nail
polish that I recently received as a christmas gift
from my friend Sam. (She's in my Vlog) As soon as I saw it, i got so so excited because I had seen it at target, but I couldn't buy it because I didn't have any money with me. So it's called "For the twill of it" by Essie. They describe it as a rich brown with reflective green colors, but i would say that it is more of a dark gunmetal grey with purple and green reflective-ness. It's not like it has just some green and purple sparkles in it, no kids, its way cooler than that. It actually reflects the light in different colors. It looks like an oil slick almost, and i've seen a lot of shoes with this sort of design/sheen on them. I personally like the oil slick trend, it sort of grew on me. The colors are just really pretty.
If I would ever buy shoes with the color, I would wear them with some black socks and a black dress, just really anything neutral, i think it would look sick. I really like wearing this nail polish because it follows the trend, with out going all out and buying some shoes like this, which I sadly cannot afford.

Here's another picture of the color, it doesn't really do it justice in this picture, but it's all chipped on
my nails right now, and so I just searched for a picture online and this came up! I overall think it's a really original color and I plan on wearing it all the time!

Alright so, tonight i'm going to my school's winter formal, and I thought you guys might want to see what i'm wearing, I think that Liv is going to do this too, so it will be fun to see both of our outfits!
I hope you guys enjoyed this post and see you guys next time!

It's like cotton candy and as I was driving home I was worried I was going to get into an accident because of how much I was staring at it! Haha anyways enjoy!

Glitch Town

Google Maps always has minor, unnoticeable glitches in their system. However, it has recently been discovered that there is a town provided on the site with streets that have some major glitches. The system error goes on for miles and it turns out that the photos produced are quite fascinating. I found myself going on for miles through the town, observing and taking photos every time I moved forward. The colors give an erie feel, while the pulled effect on the photos makes the houses and plants look like they are dripping. Give it a look around, it is very cool!

Here are some photos I took:

Room Inspo w/Plants!

Hey everybody! So today i'm going to make a post about cute room decorations, I've recently gotten into decorating my room a lot more, even though it's mostly just ideas and not actually doing anything..oops. Anyway, I thought I would just show you guys these room decorations that I've been obsessed with recently. They're cute little simple, pretty things that honestly would compliment any room.

This first one is a little terrarium. (All of these are from Urban Outfitters) it doesn't come with the decorations inside of it, but if you go to Micheals i'm positive that they'll have fake moss and any kind of cute little trinkets you would want to put in it. I like it because it's like the vibe of a fish tank, but without the fish and water of course. It just adds a really cool look and is a creative shape. Plus you can change out the stuff that you put in it to match the season or your room theme.

This next one is such a cute idea I love it so much! It would be insanely easy to do on your own so I don't recommend actually purchasing it, when you can go and get some little test tubes like these from the container store or any store where sell trinkets/furniture.  It 's just a little test tube case with flowers stuck in, I would love to put some fresh daisies and dandelions from my backyard, with a little water in the bottom to keep it fresher, and then keeping them by my window. And then afterwards I would press them into pretty little pressed flowers with this flower press that I have. I guess it would just be a really nice touch, and i love the idea because test tubes and flowers are never seen together, and I like the contrast of that.

This next decoration thing is supposed to look like a fire escape, with plants all over it. I love succulents  and cacti (could you guess) and so i thought it was such a neat cute idea that I almost bought it. And then I realized that it was over $100 and sadly, I would rather not. I love how it looks like they are crowding over and growing out,and it reminds me of my family's apartment in paris. It used to be a painter's workshop/apartment, and you can eat on the roof and see the Panthéon, (it's literally a street over). It has these HUGE windows with a gorgeous view, and you can climb this ladder to a little garden. I honestly wish I live there year round, but we try to go every summer. We're super lucky to have that in the family. After that long ramble, basically the point I was trying to make was that it seems very city-like, what with how people put out little plants on their balconies and all over their roofs.  The apartment is the top in the building (no elevator so it's 8 flights of stairs!) so you can see everyone's plants and vegetation that they put in their homes and I love it so much! When I go back this summer I will do daily posts with what I do, and put a lot of pictures! Sorry this post was so off topic but I just got really excited for what's coming up! Anyways I hope you got some inspiration and enjoy the blog! Let us know what you want to see next and i'll talk to you cacti later!

Artist of the Week: Barry Mcgee

Barry Mcgee is both a painter and graffiti artist from San Francisco. In my opinion, I find Mcgee to be a very cool artist because he plays with bold colors and creates bright patterns that are both perfect and imperfect. I know that sounds cheesy but what I am describing is how his hand drawn patterns allow every shape to be their own, meaning that the print will never line up because of the imperfections. Yet from afar, they seem to look almost computer generated with symmetry. His art is very iconic, with central figures dominating abstract backgrounds of drips, cubes, and color fields. Not only does he paint on canvas and walls but his work is displayed on glass bottles, spray cans, and even trains. His cartoon like style I find to be really captivating, and I am a big fan of his work. Enjoy!
