LUNA LACES CHOKERS

Wanna buy a handmade choker?

Iris and I (Gaby) started a little business called Luna Laces! We're selling chokers and necklaces for pretty cheap! There are tattoo chokers  and the star rope necklaces and so so many more! There will be more styles soon, these are our first designs out.
The black tattoo chokers have a knot in the back, and are stretchy enough to fit over your head (like if you were putting on a crown, then pull it down to your neck) and the rope necklaces have little clasps in the back!
you can buy them from us!
Our website: http://www.lunalacesstore.tictail.com
Our instagram: Lunalaces
email:cactuscollectiveblog@gmail.com

They make outfits look a lot more put together, and add a cute 90's touch. You can literally wear them with anything. T-shirts, dresses, crop tops... anything. You can even wear the tattoo choker swimming if you wanted to! I personally have a little silver one with tiny little white beads on it, a black tattoo choker, and a star rope necklace. We are working on a lot more designs!! We're really excited about Luna Laces! Go get ya self a choker!

Upcoming Spring Clothing Essentials

Hats
Hats are really fun to wear right now, and can completely change the look of your outfit. For example, I'm wearing a halter top and a denim looking cotton skirt. If you add the sun hat you look much more put together and like you tried a lot harder than you did. You might feel like a farmer but hey, at least you look cute.

High Ponytails
Whenever I put my hair up it's in this high pony tail. I love it because it gets my hair out of my face, but it looks really girly and effortless.

Lace and Denim shirts
Textures are in! I mixed my black crochet/lace top with a denim skirt, and my friend Sam has a light denim dress on. It looks breezy and fun for spring!

Bright lip colors
Recently i've gotten more into lip colors. If it isn't warm enough where you live for spring-y clothing, at least you can incorporate some color with a fun lip!

(please ignore my weird faces)

Sorry that was so quick, this week is super busy for me! I hope you enjoyed!

Cool Vintage Pictures

Hey guys, so today I'm making a post about old pictures they're all pretty much old family photos, but I picked them out because they had something cool or different about them and I wanted to share them with you.

This first one is just a snowy day
probably in Nevada because that's where my
mom lived. This photo is really sad looking to me and seems really desolate with all the dead trees and what not. Here in California its like 75 degrees, so we don't really get winters. It's cool to look at and I thought it was overall just a pretty picture. By the way, I know the quality is bad, all these pictures are from the 80's or older so that's why.

This picture is my mom and my uncle at the beach visiting San Diego (ironically) and I love how it looks, how their body language looks so happy and free, and I also love how the picture got  little discolored on one half, because it looks like this filter that they offer on this app called afterlight. I just think it's funny because it already looks like that. They're aged about 11 and 13 here.
I thought this one was funny. It's my dad. My mom told me that it was a really hot day and He was trying to get as much sun as possible. So he rolled up his sleeves. The next picture is from the same day it's just of my mom. I like how they go together so well, even though it's the same day, it's a different perspective yet the coloring is so similar and I like it.

So this is my mom with a napkin on her head. I laughed when I saw this because it's so like her to do that. She lifeguarded a lot when she was younger so she felt like she got too much sun and didn't want to over do it. She loves being outside, but just not getting sun burnt. So she was trying to cover her face from the hot rays.

I love this picture so much, It's so cool. I love how its all this blank space and then in the corner there's these two people holding each other so tightly that you can't even see their faces. I don't even know who these people are. Neither did my mom. But i like that about it. They just look really really passionately embracing, or like they are trying to hide from something. I also like how their hair is like the same color and they are also wearing the same color. It's one of my favorites.
This photo is another of my favorites. I made it as big as possible so that you guys could see it more clearly. This one actually is younger than the 80's this is probably 1999 because I look about 2 years old. This is my mom and I in a cafe. The whole family was there but I guess this was just a candid shot. My mom looks insanely worried and I have no idea about what, she probably was talking or something and the camera just caught her face like that. So I am drinking something and looking right at the camera, I loved being photographed, that and hats were my favorite things. Something sort of creepy about this picture is that if you look behind us, it looks like there is a ghost old woman sitting in the chair behind us. My mom pointed that out to me and at first I thought it might have been a reflection of my grandma, but my grandma was the one taking my picture and my dad and grandpa were the ones  sitting across from me. In the real life picture you can see that the woman looks like she has glasses on, and my grandma didn't even wear glasses until about a year ago. I'm sure it's just a reflection somehow, but I thought it was cool and creepy to show you.

This next picture is sort of random, but I liked my mom's sunglasses, and I think it's always cool to see how my parents looked when they were younger. This was on some hiking trip when they were in college, i think she said.

This picture is my mom and dad at an airport. I just like the picture a lot and thought that they look tired, but really cute at the same time. I also liked the cup my mom was holding and how it stands out so much from the dark colors around her.

So this one is my grandma, (mom's mom) here with their Model A. It's a really old car and they bought it in the 70's. If you look closely you can see the Ford insignia on the spare tire. Apparently it was insanely hard to drive and the only one that could do it properly was my grandpa.

This picture is of my parents again. I think they were on some island. They traveled a ton before they had kids I'm so jealous. Anyways I have no idea specifically where they were, but I thought it was a cool picture.

This picture is so funny, it's my grandma with a cat in her hood. Not much explaining needed, except that this was taken in the mid 60's probably.

This last picture is pretty cool. It's dark and depressing and it's a picture of some waterfall. I have no idea which but I just thought it was a rad pic yo.

Hope you guys enjoyed these old pictures, congrats if you made it this far!

SOCKS SOCKS SOCKS

Hey guys, today i'm gonna talk to you about socks. I love socks. Socks are great. Let me tell you about socks.

I particularly like these kinds of socks, btw this is not me in my underwear. These socks are great because they elongate your legs and are like leg blankets for those cold days when you still want to wear shorts/dresses/skirts. Basically, they're a great transition piece for winter, because you can add them to your summer staples and it keeps you warm and adds a whole different look to it. Plus, like in this picture, if you don't wanna wear pants but still want to keep your legs warm, thigh high socks are the perfect solution!

Here are some more cool socks (all of these are from free
people btw) These are more like mid-calf socks, which are like my 2nd most worn kind of sock. They look really cute with ankle boots and these ones are particularly pretty because of the crochet (?) detailing.I feel like they're almost too pretty to wear shoes with, and I would just wear them around the house.

These are pretty much knee high socks, in this picture they look really cute, but just plain knee high socks remind me of soccer socks. I say go hard (thigh high) or go home. Just kidding, but knee high socks just aren't my favorite because they always fall down because they aren't long enough to hold onto your knees, and they just end up gathered around my calfs like a sock monkey or something. To be honest though they look really cute here all wrinkled up, with a dress they might work really well!

Here are some more thigh high socks that I really love. I've been on the hunt for a t-shirt dress. (It's exactly what it sounds like) I feel like it would look really cute with some thigh high socks and boots. Sort of like this picture, but with the boots. I like how it's baggy on top and then tighter (because of the socks) on the legs so you don't lose your shape. I found some perfect t-shirt dresses @ UO (urban outfitters) but they're like 40$ and I just don't wanna spend that much when H&M will probably have them in a few weeks for like 15$.
These are really cute lacy-looking socks. They definitely take me back to 1st-3rd grade but they make any shoe look so much prettier and girlier. Ah know that i'm thinking about it, these might actually be my 2nd favorite type of socks because they just look so cute with boots and dresses. You can't not feel like a little fairy when you're wearing these! I have some like this except in black and I love them to death. Iris got them for me bc she knows i love mah socks. I really love them and wear them with boots all the time.  If you saw my first post you'll see that I have these doc marten type of knock off shoes from H&M. They look so cute with these because they are sort of conventionally "man" shoes, so wearing these socks with them helps a lot to bring back the girliness!

Thanks for reading guys!

Gaby's Outfit For Winter Formal

Hey everyone!

So I had a lot of fun at my school's winter formal. I didn't ask anyone, it's a girls ask guys dance, because my friends and I decided to go as a group. I built my outfit out of things I already had in my closet, because I think it's a waste of money to buy a dress that you only wear once and "can never wear again because I wore it to a different dance" not that I am going to wear this outfit to another dance soon, but Ill pair everything with different outfits so that I still wear all the parts, just separately. Anyway, I thought it would be fun to show you guys my outfit because I had decided that morning what I was going to wear, but i'm pretty proud of how it turned out!
front view

My dress is from Urban Outfitters, It's 70$ and it's still on the website if you guys wanna check it out. It's called "Oh my love lace dress" and I'm in love with it. It's loose fitting, but doesn't swallow you up, and goes to the perfect length. It has lace detailing all around the top and to the back, and down in a v shape on both of the sides. I'm so happy with it because you can wear it more fancy like I did, or more laid back like how the model is in this picture. I'm definitely gonna copy her outfit sometime.

The shoes i'm wearing are these platform/wedge white sandals. They are surprisingly super comfy and they were super cheap! I got them @ H&M for only $10! They were on sale and they were the last ones. I had no idea how I was going to wear them but I couldn't leave them. They're really comfy and cute, and I know that they will be summer shoes.
I have a cardigan/kimono type of thing on. It's from a local boutique but they sell them pretty much everywhere, forever21, Urban Outfitters. It kept me a little bit warmer than I would have been and it added a really pretty drapey look to my whole outfit, also it had white flowers on it that matched with my shoes! I thought that it tied it all together well. Here are some that look a little bit like mine.

Adidas&Urban

First post weee!

hey rad people! Welcome to da blog! I'm Gaby!
This is my first post so i hope you like it!

Skirt- Urban Outfitters
I fell in love with this skirt when I saw it in the store.
(sorry I don't have a super close up) It's a gorgeous maroon color
with orange little flowers, and a stretchy waistband. I didn't even have to
try it on before I bought it, i just grabbed it and bought it.
It was about 40$ bucks, so pretty expensive but oh well, I wear it a lot.
It fits perfectly and is the perfect length with my crop tops!

Crop top- Adidas
This crop top is actually my moms (oops!) It's adidas,
and has white stripes going down the sides, and a little adidas
emblem on the chest. I'm pretty sure you are supposed to
use it as a work out top, but it was too cute and fit perfectly
to pass up!
Shoes- H&M
Ok sorry i suck and couldn't find a better shot of my shoes.
They look just like dr.Martens though, and I just had some basic mid calf
socks on from marshall's underneath. I love love love these shoes!
They look a lot like the real Doc's, but they were only 30$!! I pretty much cried
when i saw them. My jewelry is all gifts from my friends, but I have on
a little golden starfish bracelet that is from my friend Ali that i'm in love with!
btw this picture is from instagram that's why it's all edited!
Socks- Urban Outfitters

ok so I wanted to add that I also could add socks
and a jacket to this outfit for when it's colder out.
Thigh high sox are like my absolute favorite way to spice
up skirts and dresses right now, I wear them wayyyy too much!
These are just plain back with little brown buttons on the sides!

Jacket- brother???
waheyy last pic! Ok so my jacket is actually
just a shirt for 13 year old boys. I stole it from my brother and I
wear it like a jacket all the time. It has such a nice structure
but at the same time it looks super worn and faded. I love it
so so so much! The color with my maroon skirt
is super fall-ish and to die for!

What's your favorite piece and how would you style it in a different way? Let me know!
xx
